Tribute Show of Willy Nelson by Willie's Fortune
It was Willie HIMSELF that made the Willie Nelson Tribute spring to life.
Willie was able to arrange a meeting with Willie Nelson in the afternoon before one of his concerts. Willie Nelson had been out jogging and was wearing a exercise suit. While Fortune was dressed exactly like the real Willie dresses on stage. Willie Nelson said, "well you look more like me than I do."
Willie Fortune explained the idea of developing a Willie Nelson Musical Tribute Show. The real Willie liked the idea and encouraged Willie to do it. He gave his permission, blessing, encouragement, and endorsement. He personally signed guitars and several of his books and they took some pictures together. That is how "the Other Willie" came to be. Willie Fortune no devotes all of his time to honoring Willie Nelson with the tribute show.
Knowing that the real Willie Nelson is the one-and-only original, Willie Fortune started calling himself "the Other Willie" because there is only one real Wilie Nelson, and he could honor him by playing and singing his songs for his fans. Since he had also been singing songs by several of Willie's friends like Johnny Cash, Wayton Jennings, Merle Haggard, and Toby Keith (and impersonating their voices), he added some of their songs. And so was created the: "Willie and Friends Show."
Willie Fortune "the Other Willie" has performed concerts at festivals, state and country fairs, corporate events, charity events, private parties, and weddings in many states. He has been mistaken for the real Willie many times, which he considers an honor and privilege.
Spend an intimate evening with the "Other Willie," Willie Fortune. You will have a great time celebrating the music of Willie Nelson and his friends.
