BOPITUDE DRUM BATTLE AT THE COHOES MUSIC HALL!
DRUM BATTLE AT THE COHOES MUSIC HALL
BOPITUDE
November 14, 2015
7:30PM
This event is modeled after the Gretsch Drum Nights at Birdland in NYC in the 1950s and 60s. Perhaps the most famous of these was in 1960 that featured Art Blakey, Philly Joe Jones, Charlie Persip and Elvin Jones. The concept was to show off these great drummers in pairs with a jazz combo. The closing typically featured a drum "battle" between the four drummers.
This event features all very well known local percussionists backed up by the popular jazz combo, Michael Benedict & BOPITUDE.
