Event
Kissed by the Sun
This event will also be performed on Sunday Afternoon March 11th.
Let's face it, by the time spring rolls around in the Northwest we yearn for the coming of the equinox and try, even if in vain, to catch a glimpse of the sun! It's time to consult the experts. Be rejuvenated in the imminent return of spring and celebrate it with fiery music from the land kissed by the sun. Consonare is thrilled to be collaborating with Jeffrey Payne, founder of FEARNOMUSIC, for several pieces of 4-hands at the piano. We also welcome Latin American ensemble Grupo Condor in a way to enhance an authentic journey and experience of equatorial music. Feel the radiant warmth of an exotic beat. "Kissed by the Sun" explores the many tonal colors and stories of Latin America. To the Mothers of Brazil: Salve Regina sets a Compline prayer of the Rosary with percussion and voice that expands sacred text within an improvisational form. The rhythmic rise and fall of Jean Berger's Brazilian Psalm allows the listener to experience hypnotic reverie; a reverie that is awakened by a caliente partnership of choir and four-hands at the piano for El Vito, Ritmo and more. Feel the warmth of song and vitality of life from warmer climes with Consonare this March! Consonare Chorale's full program may be viewed at www.consonarechorale.org
