TALES FROM THE TECHNOSPHERE (community event)
The Technosphere is the "global sphere of technology; artificial stage between biosphere and noosphere," (Argüelles, 2002). This night is dedicated to playing in the technosphere while considering its impact on our lives and how we might evolve past, or through, our dependence on machine time and technology-driven society. This night will feature mixing and layering of sound and imagery in the digital domain, accompanied by live instruments. After 30 minutes of live performance by host, Julian Lauzzana, the gear will become available to others for creative expression. Even if you don't generally listen to electronic music, this event might be worth attending to expand your palette. If you are interested in bringing some of your own electronic equipment, please email jlauzzana@gmail.com in advance or show up at 7:30 to plug in your gadgets. This event will take place on the first Thursday of each month.
