Lebanese Turnip Pickles Naira Derkiureghian / USA / Lebanon/ Short Film / 2006 This experimental piece satirizes Lebanese politics by sharing a recipe for preparing turnip pickles. Salata Baladi Nadia Kamel / Egypt / Documentary / 2007 Nadia Kamel explores the diverse ethnic and cultural background of her mother's parents. Seeing Egypt as a true melting pot, the filmmaker's mother takes us on an international tour revealing the many roots of her identity to provide her grandson an alternative to the rise of xenophobia in 21st century Egypt.
