Kemo Sabe Rana Kazkaz / USA / Short Film / 2006 Yussef, a six-year old Arab-American boy, lives out the fantasies of the Wild West on the playground. Amidst the archetypal hierarchies of Cowboy and Indian, Yussef struggles to assert his territorial claim to Cowboy status, refusing typecasting as Indian. Yet, does Cowboy status deliver the dream? What begins as a simple trip to the bakery turns into a journey that depicts not only the subtle tensions of a politically charged environment, but the grief that can result from growing up under occupation.
