Sacrifice is the story of choices. Woven into the story are the impact of the choices we make, be they 500 years ago or today. the story follows the discovery of a potential weapon of mass destruction in southern Arizona, and the pursuit of answers by a young couple and the military.
What they find is a threat that is (literally and figuratively) larger than all of them as they set loose a giant monster, which subsequently seeks to destroy civilization as we know it.
4 guys, a camera, and some luck
That is really the summary of what Sacrifice is. An homage to a bygone era of movie that is seldom present today. In 2008, when Bob Nelson, Michael Robinson, Brent Heffron and Kent Markwart came together, none had done any professional filming. But they wanted to tell a story.
Originally intended as a simple story, it ballooned into a full feature effort involving dozens of people, lots of creativity and a fair amount of personal investment on the part of each of the guys.
But in the end, in spite of the chaos, no budget, the compromise- in spite of it all, a group of people gathered around the project that believed in the story, and believed in the ability of these four people to get the story done.
That is what Sacrifice is, it is a testiment to the people in it whose effort was not based on anything except enjoying the process, triumphing over the challenges and trying as best they can to bring a story that they genuinely loved to you.
