METROPOLIS, a live soundtrack film experience
Rio Theatre & New Music Works present METROPOLIS, a live soundtrack film experience. See Kino International's 2010 release of the classic 1927 silent film METROPOLIS by Fritz Lang with 25 minutes of newly discovered footage. Hear the WORLD PREMIERE of a new original score composed by Phil Collins, Santa Cruz County Artist of the Year 2011. Live soundtrack accompaniment by NMW Ensemble and guest artists, Timba Harris (violin and trumpet), soprano Colleen Donovan and Ariose Singers. Rio Theatre lobby will be transformed into 1927 era Berlin, including a special cardboard cityscape montage created by local artists Dag Weiser and Leslie Murray. The audience is encouraged to wear fashion straight out of the film, and there will be a Best Costume prize (Costume Contest is on Saturday, Oct. 29th).
