CASCADE BLUES CRUISE
An afternoon of the best in Portland blues on every level of the Spirit featuring the Journey to Memphis All Stars.

Last year, the Portland Spirit was alive with music on every floor and dancing almost to capacity.  This year will be no different!  More acts, more music!

Over 250 acts from around the world, come to compete with the best of the best for this once in a lifetime opportunity for these musicians.

Your ticket purchase for this not to be missed afternoon of music on the Willamette River will go to help send current Journey to Memphis winners Sister Mercy (band) and Rogue Rage Duo and Youth winner soloist Justus Reece and will help provide airfare, lodging and meals to all of their band members at the upcoming January 2016 IBC.

Singer April Brown has desired to take her talent to the stages of the Rose City after years in Los Angeles, recording and singing at such famous places as The Roxie and the Whiskey a go-go on Sunset Strip. Her influences include Nina Simone, Etta James as well as current artists such as Adele and Duffy. She also trained in comedy at the Groundlings, where such notables as Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wigg and Will Farrell cut their comedy teeth.
Members of this band that has taken Portland by storm have deep roots in the Oregon regional music area. Roger Espinor played with the award-winning Rose City Kings, as it's original drummer and band production manager.  He produced three CD's with this high-energy blues band and brings those creative, driving rhythms to Sister Mercy.

Known for her passionate, driven performances, this powerhouse vocalist delivers a blistering mix of contemporary & old school blues. Lovely's standout performances have garnered awards and critical acclaim at festivals and venues throughout the US, Canada and Europe.

2014 Muddy Award Winner for Best Female Vocalist (Cascade Blues Association), Rae Gordon started in the piano bars and comedy clubs of Los Angeles, and her ability to engage an audience dates back to those roots. They have played the big and little stages of northwest's favorite clubs, dance floors and festivals helping to mold their signature sound.  Their debut album Blue Lemonade hit the Billboard Blues Charts at number 10, a spot they held for 2 weeks.  She ws the 2014 Jounrey to Memphis band winner and followed that up with a semi finals place in Memphis at the International Blues Challenge.And other acts to be announced.

Every year, blues organizations from around the world hold local contests to send their winning acts to the renowned International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee (www.blues.org).  Cascade Blues Association, the local Portland blues organization, holds their own "Journey to Memphis" contest every year at the Waterfront Blues Festival in downtown Portland.


Ticket $25.  Drawings for certificates from local eateries and blues clubs. Food and drink will be available for purchase directly on the boat
