Messiah Sing Along
Seattle Unity Rediscovers Messiah Throughout the 1980's Seattle Unity was among the many regional churches that hosted SINGALONG MESSIAH concerts, which invited music lovers to share the thrill of singing some of the most adored music in western repertoire, Handel's "Messiah". Only a handful of these singalongs still occur, and interested singers have had to venture further and further afield to find one. This year, Seattle Unity breathes life back into this tradition in our beautiful downtown Sanctuary, with orchestra, professional soloists, and wonderful refreshments at a pre-concert Holiday Feast of Treats. Our conductor is Rev. Eric Odel, founder and director of Spirit of the Sound Choir. Soloists are Glenn Guhr (bass), Ellaina Lewis (Soprano), Erin McGaughan (alto) and Jonakan Osteen (tenor). All singers are invited, and non-singers (listeners) too. Bring your own score; some scores available for rent. Choral section leaders will keep things moving confidently, and practice links are available for extra-diligent folks: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5513427/SU/Messiah Info for Singers.pdf Proceeds will benefit New Horizons Ministry www.nhmin.org , a longtime outreach partner with Seattle Unity. New Horizons has been loving and serving Seattle's homeless and street involved young people since 1978. www.nhmin.org CHILDREN 12 AND UNDER ARE FREE----GENERAL ADMISSION $20 Please help us to create a warm, community holiday gathering by bringing Holiday Treats and traditions to share at 6PM and during intermission.
