Tonio is a shy bookseller who often has his head in the clouds. He is secretly in love with a waitress called Julia and he wants to win her over by performing for her at a music festival. Tonio is suddenly in the spotlight and his efforts to win Julia are thwarted by a series of humorous events and unlikely rivals.
