Shoe City Screens film festival returns to Brockton Thursday, July 30, 2015 Saturday August 1, 2015. Over the course of three days, Shoe City Screens will present four feature films and mix of six shorts a music videos.
Thursday July 30: 2:00pm Brockton Historical Society - New Antiquarians 7:00pm Buckley Performing Arts Center, Massasoit Community College Red Paint People These documentaries, produced by the Hidden Landscapes Project, present a different look at Native American history.
Friday July 31: 2:00pm Brockton Historical Society - Great Falls The third film in the Hidden Landscapes Project series.
7:30pm Buckley Performing Arts Center, Massasoit Community College - Cosplay Nation Cosplay is the act of costume play, seen popularly from anime to comic conventions. How did the word originate? What exploded this culture? Is it getting trendy? See for yourself in a documentary covering its history in America with many stories, many personalities, and the course it may take.
Saturday August 1: 7:30pm Joe Angelo's Cafe - shorts and music videos Search for a friend Hermitude Ukeo Jehovah's Cobras Color of Cannibals Save My Life Sometime Around January
All venue locations are in Brockton. The Hidden Landscape series is free to the public. Tickets for Friday night and Saturday night are $10 and $5 respectively or $12 for both nights. Tickets at the door will be $12 and $7.
