Description
Corelli: Concerto Grosso Opus 6, No. 5 in B flat
Zelenka: Mass in C Major, ZWV 20, "Missa Dei Filii"
Haydn: Symphony No. 31 in D major  ("Hornsignal")
Bach: Orchestral Suite No. 4 in D major, BWV 1069

One of our most popular annual concerts, "Winter Baroque", makes connections between the music of the Baroque and works of other periods. The Baroque component for this concert includes two big orchestral pieces by Corelli and J.S. Bach, whose fourth orchestral suite ends with Rejouissance ("rejoicing"), and a mass setting by a less familiar contemporary of Bach, Jan Dismas Zelenka. Our nod to the spice of life is Haydn's Symphony No. 31, which includes brilliant writing for four horns.

One youth ticket (age 7-17) free with each full-price ticket, must be ordered in advance.
