Caffè Lena steps out of its intimate Saratoga listening room and into the wider Capital District with this special Caffè Lena On the Road Concert at Sage College's beautiful Bush Memorial Hall in Troy.
Puerto Rican vocalist Taína Asili and Sicilian guitarist Gaetano Vaccaro perform Latin America's best-loved folk classics. Classically trained vocalist Taína Asili has shared the stage with renowned artists such as Sonia Sanchez, Paula Cole, and Tyrone Hill of The Sun Ra Arkestra. She has studied Flamenco with some of Spain's best contemporary Flamenco vocalists, including Alicia Gil and Esperanza Fernández.
Gaetano Vaccaro is a multi-instrumentalist of the most extraordinary breadth, with notable skill on guitar, bass, drums, saxophone, clarinet, flute, keyboards, and cello. He has studied under well-known jazz guitarists John Hilton and Pat Martino, and flamenco guitarists Miguel Angel Cortez and Francisco "El Pulga" Morales. In addition to his duet work Taína, Gaetano has put out two albums with hip hop/rock band Broadcast Live.
