After the tragic passing of Bruce Lee before finishing GAME OF DEATH in 1973, Hollywood producers sought to capitalize on his fame by casting a Bruce Lee impersonator.  Known by many fans as the ultimate 'Brucexploitation' film, GAME OF DEATH was completely rewritten and used only 12 minutes from the original footage.

Undoubtedly, the finished GAME OF DEATH bears little resemblance to Lee's original vision.   While growing up, filmmaker Justin Lin found this to be troubling. "The story (of how the film was made) always intrigued me," says Lin. "When I was young, I didn't know the back story involved. All I saw was that there was this other guy walking around and then there was Bruce Lee at the end. I was totally confused. As I got older, I really wanted to tell that story."

Director Justin Lin reunites most of the cast from his breakout film BETTER LUCK TOMORROW and some of his more commercial ventures ANNAPOLIS and THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS: TOKYO DRIFT in this project.  Set in the 1970s, Justin Lin's FINISHING THE GAME is a fictitious documentary exploring the absurdity in Hollywood's racism when finishing the GAME OF DEATH.  It is a comedic romp when tons of no-talent Bruce Lee wanna-bes audition to stand-in for the late Bruce Lee.  Bruce imposters include Breeze Loo (Rodger Fan), a Lee knockoff artist, Tarrick Tyler (McCaleb Burnett), a white guy who thinks he's Asian, and Troy Poon (Dustin Nguyen), a washed up star of a TV cop drama, who makes a living selling vacuum cleaners door-to-door.

Q&A with Director Justin Lin and cast Roger Fan and Sung Kang following the screening.  Ticket price includes reception with filmmakers following the screening at Cozmic Pizza.  FTG has recently screened at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (SFIAAF), and the Chicago Asian American 2007 Showcase.
