Martin and Eliza Carthy
It's been 50 years since Martin Carthy recorded his first album and 20 years since his daughter, Eliza Carthy, made her recording debut as a member of Waterson:Carthy with her father & mother, Norma Waterson. Throughout their colorful careers, they have toured and recorded with seemingly countless other performers and while Eliza has made an awarding-winning album, 'The Gift,' with her mom, the dynamic pair has finally recorded a duo album, The Moral of the Elephant, nominated for this year's BBC Radio 2 Awards as 'Folk Album of the Year.' Martin is widely regarded as one of the finest and most influential singers & guitarists the British Isles has ever produced. He has worked with some of the most significant folk artists, including Steeleye Span, The Watersons, Dave Swarbrick, The Albion Band and Brass Monkey. Winner of numerous awards, Eliza sings in the rich Waterson woman's style and is also a fabulous fiddler, evoking memories of her dad's partnership with Swarbrick.
