Mobtown Modern kicks off its 2010-2011 season by partnering with the University of Baltimore's Spotlight UB Performing Arts Series for a concert of the piano, wind, string, vocal, and mechanical music of Hungarian composer and musical innovator Gyorgy Ligeti. Known most popularly for his music being included in the Stanley Kubrick films 2001: A Space Odyssey and Eyes Wide Shut. Internationally acclaimed pianist Jenny Lin performs along with Baltimore Symphony Orchestra violist Karin Brown and a host of Mobtown Modern regulars on a concert that will also include a rare performance of Poème Symphonique for 100 metronomes.
