Rise Up & Sing!
The Seattle Lesbian and Gay Chorus lifts its voices to celebrate the strength of the human spirit. "Rise Up & Sing" features music born of revolution: the labor movement, the civil rights movement, the fight for GLBT rights, the fight against apartheid, Vietnam protests, and more. The program will also feature songs from Broadway in the spirit of protest, including music from "Les Miserables" and "Wicked." Join us for a night of powerful music that celebrates the spirit of liberation!
About SLGC:
In its 2006-2007 season, the Seattle Lesbian and Gay Chorus celebrates its 17th anniversary as a thriving and dynamic member of the Seattle arts community. Founded in 1990 by 17 singers, the chorus has grown over the years from a small ensemble to a large community organization performing regularly in Seattle and throughout the Puget Sound area. Lead by Artistic Director Scott Farrell, every concert is built upon the chorus mission: to entertain, enlighten, and move our audiences through musical and performance excellence within a community that celebrates and affirms all genders and sexualities.
