The Grand Cinema's 72 Hour Film Festival
The Grand Cinema is proud to host the 2010 72 Hour Film Festival on Friday, May 7 at the Rialto Theater in downtown Tacoma.
Everyone is invited to enjoy this collaboration of thirty (30) great short films written, directed and produced by local filmmakers (total running time of films = approx. 2 hours). Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the films will begin at 7:00 p.m. You can purchase tickets by stopping by the Grand Cinema or visit www.GrandCinema.com. Tickets will be available at the event starting at 5:30p (each ticket is $2 more at walk up).
What is a 72 Hour Film Festival: On Thursday, April 29 exactly 30 teams will meet at the Grand Cinema to receive their instructions for this year's competition. It sounds simple they have 72 Hours to write, shoot and edit one (1) 5-minute film. Each team is required to turn in their 5-minute film by 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 2. The films must include four components, of which might be: a situation, an action, a certain line of dialogue, a location or a certain prop. This is not an easy task, but the results are fantastic. The variety of humor, drama and ingenious creativity put into these short 5-minute films is a must see. For more information visit www.GrandCinema.com or call 253-572-6062.
