KC Turner and Climate Theater present The Courtney Janes, The Skinny, & Misner & Smith

KC Turner Presents features an eclectic and talented group of musicians every first and third Wednesday at Climate Theater.

The Courtney Janes - http://thecourtneyjanes.com
The Courtney Janes are a duo from Marin County that believe music should always be played from the heart. Dennis Haneda has been strumming and singing his songs around the San Francisco Bay Area for all of his life. Ben Hulan describes himself as a "Virginian songwriter in California". Both Ben and Dennis have played and recorded in various different groups over the years, ranging from folk and bluegrass to rock n' roll. Grounded in acoustic folk and colored with the electric guitar and mandolin, The Courtney Janes have an exciting sound of their own.

The Skinny - http://www.myspace.com/skinnystrings
The Skinny is a knee-slapping, tear-jerking, foot-stomping crowd playing not-so-traditional folk and bluegrass sounds, and loving every minute. These pickers combine sweet harmonies with dobro, banjo, guitar, fiddle, mandolin, accordion, ukelele and a rockin bass line, pulling you in 'til you wanna pick up anything that makes noise and play along too.

Misner & Smith - http://www.misnerandsmith.com
At moments raw and powerful, and at others delicate and soothing, two-part harmonies anchor Misner & Smithâs unique and compelling Americana music with an exceptional vocal blend. A connection to roots music is clearly embedded in their award-winning songwriting, and it is evident that the tradition of duets is truly alive and well in these two performers.

Misner & Smith will lift you up with music that rarwriter.com called âtruly inspired vocalizingâ. Drawing from the traditions of Americana, Folk, and Bluegrass music, Misner & Smith use powerful storytelling and weave it together with their own brand of American Music full of longing and hope.
