New Works: The Apocalypse: Episodes I, III & V
The Tank New York, NY
THE APOCALYPSE is an episodic collection of art pieces influenced by a secular tale regarding the end of society. Created by Laurie Berg, Megan Byrne, and Liliana Dirks-Goodman, these dances, videos, sculptures and songs reflect a societal life cycle of inflation to destruction with a rebirth into utopia. Blurring the lines between installation, theater and variety show, The Apocalypse takes the viewer on a visual journey of mistakes, survival, fear and second chances. Three out of the five episodes will be shown at the TANK in May 2010 including: The Apocalypse Mall, Joan and Judy Get Taken for a Walk and The Sorrow of Utopia. Guest artists include Sophia Peer, Miguel Gutierrez, Jim Byrne, and Mike Rugnetta.
