Learn about our neighboring planets and the stars. Explore Mars, Venus and our Moon with our Museum experts. Take a close-up look at an asteroid. Learn the constellations and what is beyond our Milky Way Galaxy. Spend 1/2 of the day studying the planets and 1/2 of the day discovering the stars. Hands-on activities, visits to space science locations, and a Planetarium show are included. Each session is limited to 13 campers.
(Entering 4th - 6th grade in the 20142015 School Year)
Aftercare will be available from 3:30-5:00pm for an additional fee of $50 per week. Enroll in person at NMMNH&S.
Scholarships are available for children who qualify and are awarded based on need. YOU NEED TO KNOW All campers must be picked-up by 3:30 PM. Campers still at the Summer Science Program after 3:45 PM will automatically be enrolled in our aftercare program. Payment for aftercare must be made by cash or check at time of camper pick-up. -Our camp instructors are teachers or scientists. They have all completed first aid and CPR. All instructors submit to a background check before teaching camp. -Please note that Museum staff cannot take responsibility for dispensing prescription or over-the-counter medications. -Campers are required to provide their own lunch, snack, and drink. Campers must wear appropriate clothing and shoes for active learning.
The New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science reserves the right to cancel any event that does not reach a minimum of 6 participants.
