Tao Soup
A 5 person ensemble performance piece inspired by the Tao Te Ching. Using nothing but their bodies, voices and 5 chairs, the artists explore central Taoist themes with humor, insight and clarity. A true ensemble piece, Tao Soup is the masterwork of the late Scott Kelman, creator of Mindfulness Based Improvisation, re-enlivened by director Melanya Helene. Inspired by the ancient Chinese text, the Tao Te Ching, as well as the writings of Alan Watts, the ecstatic poetry of Rumi, and the cult classic "the Barefoot doctor's guide to the Tao", The LA Times called Tao Soup is a "matchless opportunity for creative and spiritual nourishment"
