Speed-the-Plow by David Mamet
Speed-the-Plow is a razor-sharp, laugh-out-loud funny evisceration of the movie business. A new studio executive is approached by an old friend to greenlight (approve) a movie project that would jump-start the friend's career as a producer. As the men strategize and jockey for position, an apparently lowly female office temp inserts herself into the power struggle, with stunning results. Speed-the-Plow is a brilliantly entertaining and insightful satire of the Hollywood Dream Factory and is Mamet's wittiest play.
