HappySlip: LIVE!

Do you like Mixed Nuts? How about MacBeautiful? Have you heard of the "Morning Mist?"

These are phrasewords made popular by the comedienne Christine Gambito, also known as HappySlip. HappySlip is coming to Seattle LIVE! and up-close and personal on October 30th at Kane Hall starting at 7:30 pm.

HappySlip comes to Seattle to help raise funds for the Filipino Community of Seattle's FilSTAR Youth Program, which aims to provide more extensive services to local youth.

Join us for a night of family-fun, laughs, and enjoyment as we welcome HappySlip to the Emerald City!

ABOUT HAPPYSLIP:

Christine Gambito, better known by her screen name HappySlip, is an American Internet personality, actress, and comedian. Gambito is amongst the most beloved of all online personalities. She maintains one of the most-subscribed-to channels on YouTube with nearly 400,000 subscribers and 70,000,000 video views.

On January 25, 2008, Gambito, who is of Filipino ancestry, was appointed ambassador for Philippines tourism by the Department of Tourism after she produced a series of travelogues around the country. Her involvement in the campaign Experience Philippines! was recognized with a Silver Boomerang Award and two Anvil Awards.

In March 2007, Gambito's video Mixed Nuts was nominated for the 2006 YouTube Video Awards for Best Comedy, resulting in second place. In May of the same year, she became one of the first users accepted into YouTube's revenue sharing program.

Gambito's performances typically include comedy sketches in which she impersonates members of her family. She also sings and plays the piano and guitar. As Gambito has stated repeatedly in her videos, she is notably one of the very few top users acting, filming, editing and producing her shorts completely on her own.

Born and raised in Virginia, Christine moonlighted as an actress while earning a degree in nursing. She landed several cameo appearances and small parts in television commercials and movies, industrial and training films before taking her act online full-time. Currently HappySlip has partnered with Western Union to create a series of shorts promoting the companys campaigns within the online sphere.

FilSTAR stands for Filipino Seattle Teens And Resources. It originates from a long history of Youth Services Programs provided by the Filipino Community of Seattle. As of today, FilSTAR offers academic support, mentorship, and college prep to students who often come from first generation immigrants, and low-income families.

FilSTAR seeks to become a fully-comprehensive Youth Services Program to provide all of the following services:
1. Student Academic Support
2. Workforce Readiness
3. History, Culture, and Sports
4. College Preparatory Academy
5. Outreach to youth who are at-risk
