Shavuot on the Mountain
Wilderness Torah invites you to gather with community for Shavuot on the Mountain - an overnight camping trip and celebration on the sacred Mt. Tamalpais. Join us for a night of study, ceremony, and celebration!
Shavuot, the second of our holy pilgrimage festivals, is the celebration of Revelation when we received the wisdom of our tradition while upon the great mountain of Mount Sinai. Shavuot also marks the spring harvest - Bikkurim, the harvest of the first fruits - when we can celebrate the season and share the spiritual fruits we have harvested since our Passover liberation. In this festival, we again make a pilgrimage to a mountain, to touch into the deep energy of this time, and to share our wisdom with each other. We will commemorate the revelation with an all-night gathering co-created by our community on the mountainside in the redwood forest! We will prepare food and eat together, learn and offer classes and workshops ranging from text studies to night hikes, and pray and meditate together. Cap off the experience with an optional hike to the summit of Mt. Tam on Friday. Join Wilderness Torah to connect with the earth, community, Spirit and yourself as we celebrate this awesome moment in the Jewish year.
Please contact us at wildernesstorah@gmail.com if you need a scholarship. No one will be turned away for lack of funds!
