Why Men Gather II
Here we are, coming out of the Covid 19 pandemic, and the U.S. Surgeon General is alerting us to a significant rise in loneliness for all people. Long before Covid and its isolation, men were noticing how quick we men have been to relinquish our time with friends as we age. There are only so many hours in the day, but why are men so quick to relinquish our time with friends? As we get older, do we deem those relationships to be unnecessary, less important, unfulfilling, or is planning and scheduling too awkward and complicated? What are we missing out on by not having more time with our male friends? What has the Covid experience revealed to us about how we value friendship?
Marc Clopton will lead the discussion as we uncover the things men have in common whether we're single, married, divorced, widowed, gay, straight, bi or trans. Our goal is to share thoughts and insights that will encourage us all to keep our long-term friendships meaningful and relevant, and to get over the hump of making new friends, if that is a need we have.
