2023 International Business Womens Day Awards Luncheon
In celebration of International Business Womens Day, the Wells International Foundation (WIF) will present the 2023 International Business Womens Day Awards Luncheon on Friday, September 22, 2023 from 11:30am to 1:30pm at the Houston Downtown Aquarium Nautilus Ballroom.
Our 2023 theme Plant the Seed, Nurture the Girl, Grow the Future celebrates women who 1) are recognized as being successful in their fields and 2) nurture girls and young women who look to achieve their own dreams of the future.
During this event, WIF will recognize and honor women business leaders who MENTOR women who are thriving in business and whose living legacy includes actively supporting the youth who will become the women leaders of tomorrow. We will also recognize an exceptional man and an exceptional organization that have a track record of leadership and dedication to women and girls.
Awards will be made in the following categories

Extraordinary Public Service Award - Houston City Council Member Tiffany D. Thomas
Annie Powell Youth of the Year Award - Destiny Fagbohun, high school student, family caretaker, and WIF volunteer, Katy
Community Leadership Award - Dr. Penny Ralston, Director, Center on Better Health & Life for Underserved Populations, Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL
Community Advocate of the Year Award - Brandi Brown, Executive Director, HYPE Freedom School, Houston and Founder, Black Impact Houston
Spirit of Equality Award - Nia Gilliam, United Airlines pilot and co-founder of Sisters of the Skies, Pearland
Man of the Year Award - Efrem Jernigan, President, South Union CDC, Houston
