Workshop: Intro to Papercutting Art with Jerise
Come learn to create silhouette magic with just paper and scissors! This workshop, limited to 6 participants, will introduce you to the time-honored tradition of papercutting, which has flourished everywhere paper exists. Starting with basic symmetrical shapes like hearts, snowflakes and the Chinese symbol for double happiness, we will move into cutting as a part of the art of drawing, and try a silhouette of a person, imaginary creatures, trees, and landscapes, all formed from simple cut shapes that you use to create the pattern.
2 hours. In my home, at 615 West 186th St. Bring your own scissors (if you have); I will provide paper. Limited to 6 participants. Vaxxed, boosted, masks. Thanks!

Accessibility
There are stone stairs to enter the building on 186th St, and three steps into the building lobby; from there, there is an elevator. It's a pre-war building, with narrow door frames. Please let me know of access needs and I will offer assistance getting in and out. Activity in my apt will be mostly seated, working at a table. Please be vaxxed, boosted, and masked. Thanks!
