Salu-Salo

The International Institute of Rural Reconstruction is hosting a rousing, Top-Chef-meets-Chopped, Filipino food competition to raise money for our elementary school nutrition programs in The Philippines.

Our Bio-Intensive Gardens bring health and nutrition education into the classrooms of poor and rural schools in the Philippines. Through these gardens, we teach students and in turn, their families, about eating healthy, and help bring nutritional foods into the school lunch programs.

The dishes featured will be inspired by the vegetables (think purple yam, amaranth, or even cow peas) the students grow.
