The Nutcracker Suite & Jazzy
San Clemente Dance & Performing Arts Center produces a show with the classic story line we all know and love but we have added a little twist to the first act! We include several dance styles such as Jazz for our children's party scene, Tap for the toy soldiers who are brought to life, Hip Hop for the battle scene between the Nutcracker with his loyal hip hop soldiers and the evil mouse king and his mischievous mice. Finally a lyrical contemporary snow flurry usher Clara and her Nutcracker Prince towards the Land of the Sweets. Our second act takes a turn for the more traditional and gives you all the wonderful music of the season in classical ballet form.
