The Atlanta Fashion Incubator's First Roundtable Discussion

The Atlanta Fashion Incubator was formed as a resource center for new and emerging designers. Our purpose is to provide access to information, skills and equipment necessary for a new design enterprise to sustain their entrepreneurial viability.

During our capital funding campaign and while we search for a brick and mortar home, we will be conducting workshops and seminars. The first one will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2008 @ 6:30 p.m. at the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce.

The primordial issue for designers residing and creating in Atlanta is, "Can you Have a Viable Fashion Design Business in Atlanta?" We are gathering a roundtable of industry professionals to explore this issue from all angles.

Hot topics include:

*What are the challenges of a design business in the ATL?
*How do we retain design talent in the South versus
LA or NY?
*Are the expectations of the graduates from the 6 post secondary schools in our area realistic?

The goal is to present a diverse group of both achieved and emerging fashion entrepreneurs of apparel, accessories, shoes and jewelry to share the struggles and accomplishments of their journey.
