The Antipodes by Annie Baker
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED
In light of the increasing spread of COVID-19, Seven Siblings Theatre and Leroy Street Theatre have made the decision to cancel our upcoming production of Annie Bakers The Antipodes.
This is a play and team we love, but we are taking the necessary precautions to protect the safety of our artists and audiences amidst this international crisis.
Due to the devastating financial impact on our indie operations we encourage you to please consider a donation to our production in lieu of a refund. In the event that you are unable to do so, and require your money back for financial relief, please contact us at theantipodesto@gmail.com. We would be happy to make that possible.
This play has taught us there will always be a need for stories. And although we arent able to share this one with you, we hope to have your support on the other side.
Stay safe and take care.

...
The Antipodes is an ensemble based piece that takes place in a writers room. It is about storytellers telling stories; but it also plays with time, ambition, myth, monotony, misogyny, and the extreme measures we will take to create something extraordinary.
Annie Baker's plays (The Flick, The Aliens, John, Circle Mirror Transformation, etc) will be familiar to Toronto audiences, and we are very excited to be the first Canadian companies to produce this work.
OUR TEAM Directed by Christina Pastor Stage Managed by Kit Simmons Set and Costume Design by Desree Gray Lighting Design by Chin Palipane Choreography by Jarrett Siddall Produced by Madryn McCabe, Melissa Wright, Anne Van Leeuwen, Alice Lundy, and Will King.

THE PRESS
"An intensely vivid hypnotizing act disguised as a play." - Time Out New York
Endlessly fascinating ... in-all-ways-fabulous ... The Antipodes leaves you glowing with a wondering satisfaction. Ms. Baker has established herself as one of the freshest voices in American theater. - Critics Pick!, The New York Times
Tantalizing ... Here, in a drama confined to a fluorescent room ... she edges into symbolist territory. Bakers signature hyper-realism makes room for an irrational dimension that lightly evokes the supernatural enigmas of Maurice Maeterlinck and August Strindberg." - Los Angeles Times
