Este espectáculo tragicómico del laureado dramaturgo cubano Abelardo Estorino, nos revela las intimidades de una actriz venida a menos quien aprovecha la oportunidad que le brinda un festival de monólogos para ventilar sus quejas y sinsabores dentro del mundo del teatro. Las penas saben nadar tuvo su estreno mundial en La Habana en 1989. Desde entonces, la pieza ha ganado múltiples premios y han sido varias las actrices quienes han interpretado a su personaje principal en escenarios de Brasil, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Chile, México, Estados Unidos, España, Alemania, Suiza y Suecia, entre otros.
This tragicomic show by award-winning Cuban playwright Abelardo Estorino, gives us an intimate look at the life of a down-on-her-luck actress who seizes the moment during a monologue festival to air out her many complaints about the world of the theater. Las penas saben nadar had its world premiere in Havana in 1989. Since then, the show has won multiple awards and various actresses have brought its main character to life on stages in Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Chile, Mexico, the United States, Spain, Germany, Switzerland and Sweden, among others.
