You won't want to miss our third Serenading the Cows event at Cloverbud Ranch in Portsmouth, RI. Come out for for some lively jigs & reels on Sunday August 18th, as we welcome World Champion uilleann piper Keegan Loesel, with his pal Rory Coyne, a whiz on button accordion.
Keegan - with his unique Irish pipes - recently moved to South County from the Philadelphia area. He has performed from Toronto to California as well as in Dublin & County Clare, & has shared the stage with such Irish music greats as The Chieftains & Altan. Rory is making a name for himself on the button box, all around the Boston area (where he lives with his family) & beyond. He has won multiple awards for his musicianship, & can often be found playing in Boston's Irish music venues such as The Druid & The Burren.
We are hosting this live music and grass-fed burger cookout to support Newport public schools music program out in our 60 acre pasture - right in front of our herd of 45 rotationally grazing beef cattle. They love music !!
4:00 PM cookout and fellowship as people make their way out to the field. 5:00 PM - Calling of the Cows and the haunting sounds of Keegan on the pipes accompanied by Rory on the button accordion. 6:00 PM music concludes but folks can stay for drinks and conversation. Tickets are $25 which includes grass-fed burgers, baked beans and salad and a donation to Diane Sheehan's elementary school string ensemble in Newport public schools. Our assistance will help children whose families would struggle to afford their instrument rental. BYOB. Spread the word!
