Of Mice and Men
Promethean Theater, a local non-profit theater company, is excited to be producing this story, which is a collaboration between artists with disabilities with those without disabilities.
GARY JONES DIRECTOR
Gary is a Jessie Award-winning playwright whose thirty-year career spans well over two decades! After joining Torontos fabled Second City Theatre, Gary moved to Vancouver and never looked back. (He did try but the Rockies blocked his view). Hes a Leo Award-nominated actor whos worked with the likes of Nick Nolte, Katherine Hepburn and Andre the Seal, one of whom managed to eat an entire bucket of fish a day. He has trodden the boards and graced big and small screen including ten years as Chief Master Sergeant Walter Harriman on the sci-fi smash TV show, Stargate: SG1 while his comedy improv chops took him all the way to Redmond, Washington to perform in the home of Bill & Melinda Gates for them and 90 of their closest nerds. Gary has penned humour columns for Vancouver Magazine, BC Business and the Globe & Mail. He currently writes for CBC Radios The Debaters as well as teaches at the Vancouver Film School. Gary is beyond chuffed to be directing such a classic play and working with such a stellar team. He lives happily in East Vancouver with Greta & Elliott Hedley who just happen to be helping bring this amazing production to life.
TRISHA LI - ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
An artistic associate and co-founder of Promethean Theatre, Trisha is a local Vancouver actor and graduate of SFU's Theatre program. Her most recent acting credits include Saint Joan (Promethean Theatre) and Life of Galileo (United Players). Trisha grew up in a home that fostered her creative and artistic gifts. Aside from acting, she grew up singing in choirs and taking piano and flute lessons. Other passions include reading, travelling, and learning new languages.
Of Mice and Men has been one of Trisha's favorite books since she was a youth, and she is elated to be able to bring this beautiful story to life on stage.
ISAAC LI - PRODUCER
An artistic associate and co-founder of Promethean Theatre, Isaac is a Burnaby-raised acting student at Studio 58 (graduating December 2019). Directing credits include Saint Joan (Promethean), Chicken Wings & Jell-O Shots (Studio 58). Acting credits include Cabaret (Studio 58), Mortified (Studio 58), Cinderella: Panto (Metro), Love's Labour's Lost (Alchemy). When not anywhere near a theatre, Isaac can either be found with his two snakes, his three family, or his four friends.
THEO BELL - TECHNICAL DIRECTOR, LIGHTING & SOUND DESIGNER
Theo Bell is an up-and-coming Vancouver based scenographer(lighting, sound, set, and projection designer), technical director and Studio 58 graduate. He has designed with, and technically assisted, such companies as Zee Zee Theatre, A Stones Throw Production, The Solo Collective, Classic chic, Green Thumb Theatre, Chutzpah Fest, The Shameless Hussies, Peninsula Productions and of course Studio 58. Being South London born, and East Vancouver raised, Ive had a multitude of viewpoints into different economic and cultural sides of life. Having embraced the rebellious side of arts expressionism, through painting and music while also aligning with the forward-thinking nature of technology, though projection and lighting, I believe I have a wide range of experiences to draw from, for my designs."
GRETA HEDLEY - COSTUME DESIGNER
A graduate of Londons Wimbledon School of Fine Arts with a degree in Theatre Design, Gretas thirty-year costume-design career has spanned theatre, film, television, commercials & print. Her creative muse has answered the call from such diverse clients as Londons Queens Theatre to Vancouvers Tamanhous Theatre, as well musical icons Michael Bublé, Tom Jones and global super-group Oasis. She currently works with the Surrey School Board as an Expressive Arts Therapist helping refugee children gain access to their emotions that have been suppressed through the trauma of war and displacement. She is thrilled to be costume-designing for this labour of love and working with her lovely son, Elliott.
MARCUS VAILLANT - PROPS AND SET DESIGNER
Marcus is a Lower Mainland based, Set, Prop and Costume Designer. He is proud to be apart of such an exciting and meaningful show that allows such inclusivity and diversity.

SHAYLYN HANEY - STAGE MANAGER
Shaylyn has two years of stage management and development, and is currently studying in Studio 58 for theatre production. She is very excited to work on Of Mice and Men with an amazing cast and crew.
DIYALLA MALIJIAN - ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER
Diyalla is her name and passion is her game, whether it is food, the arts, travelling, history, Supernatural, family, or friends. Diyalla is currently completing her bachelors in psychology at Simon Fraser University. She also has her eyes set on attaining a minor in Greek history, especially after taking two courses in the study abroad program in Greece through SFU. In the future she hopes to work with youth and make a difference as well as balancing out time for exploring the world. Diyalla has been working as a child care and youth program leader since 2009. She loves working with kids and helping youth in her community. When she is not enriching her mind with knowledge at school or getting her dose of fulfilment at work, Diyalla can be found in her room, slaying dragons on her PS3. Dont worry they are bad demonic dragons.
