Gurf Morlix
Buffalo born and Texas bred, Gurf Morlix, started and continues the Road Rambler Series at the ABC's Cambridge Depot. Gurf hangs his hat in Austin; produces and plays there regularly. When he hits the road, he often passes through the Capital region and has made stops at Valentines, the Hanger, and Cafe Lena. His solo shows are imbued with all the vast experience and artistry of his life. Yeah, that's him on all your favorite Lucinda Williams records. When you went to see Warren Zevon, that was Gurf beside him. When you're listening To Ray Wylie Hubbard, Robert Earl Keen, or Mary Gauthier, you're listening to Gurf. With stripped bare minimalism, he caresses his parlor guitar, boot box beats out a percussive, solid time, and pours his heart out in whispers. Gurf tours in support of this tenth album, Impossible Blue. He might champion his late, great friend, Blaze Foley.
The Argyle Brewing Company is a farm brewery, producing impeccable craft Ales. The home base and brewing is in Greenwich, NY and has a second tasting room at the Cambridge Depot. The Depot was built in 1901 and served as a passenger station till 1945. The Battenkill Rambler occasionally rumbles by to this day.
