Start Your Own Farmstead B&B
Circle M Market Farm
Blanchardville, WI
Share this event:

Have you always had a dream of running our own bed & breakfast or airbnb enterprise?  Come for a "behind the scenes" look at Circle M Market Farm run by Kriss Marion, one of the most successful farmstays in Wisconsin.  Hear Kriss talk on state regulations, marketing, living the innkeeper lifestyle and navigating start-up issues. Lear about "glamping" and renting our vintage campers.   A detailed tour is included, and written materials as well as a brunch-making (and eating!) experience to help you envision what hosting guests would require in the kitchen.

Children are welcome to come (free) with ticketed adults.

A free copy of Renewing the Countryside: WISCONSIN will be given away to every family, couple and/or household registered for a particular workshop (a $26.95 value); the free book giveaway is limited to one copy per residential address of attendees.

About Kriss Marion:

Kriss Marion is a certified organic vegetable farmer, shepherdess, innkeeper, teacher, chef and all-around farm-to-fork enthusiast. She owns and runs Circle M Market Farm, a field-to-table bed and breakfast, which is located in Lafayette County just 45 minutes southwest of Madison.  The farm is home to hogs, steers, chickens, goats, ducks, cats, dogs and Jacob and Merino sheep which provide wool for sale and fiber art classes. Kriss is a transplant to country life, having moved from Chicago over ten years ago. In her adopted village of Blanchardville, population 825, that makes her brand new in town. She says her neighbors haven't always understood what she was up to on her little funny farm, and watched with amusement at first, but gave advice so generously that the transition from city life to farming has been all joy.

On behalf of the South Central Chapter of the Wisconsin Farmers Union, thanks for participating in SOIL SISTERS. Since this is an annual event, we invite you to share your experiences on our Facebook page or other social media you use. Of course, we're always looking for ways to make your experience better, so let us know what we did right and what we could improve upon. Hope to see you back again next year where they'll always be something new to taste, animal to meet or soil sister to greet.
