Snap on 2&4 w/ Christina Watson
Friday, June 21, please join us in welcoming superb vocalist Christina Watson back to the Jazz Cave for Snap on 2&4.
Originally from southeastern Kentucky, Christina moved to Nashville in 2001 after graduating Magna Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Since her arrival in Music City, her versatile voice of 3+ octaves and love of all cultures have gained her entry into a wide array of musical situations, including appearances at various jazz festivals and at numerous venues in the US, France, Belgium and Sweden. She has released two CD's as a leader - 2004's All About Love and 2008's critically acclaimed A Flower Truly Blue and the band is scheduled to begin recording a new CD the week following this performance! Christina also sings soprano in the Nashville based vocal jazz quartet 3rd Coast Vocals, and leads her own a cappella women's group called the Nashville Belles, which performs locally to benefit a different charity each year.
Joining Christina for this Snap on 2&4 appearance will be a fantastic band, featuring Don Aliquo (saxophone), Oscar Utterström (trombone), Joe Davidian (piano), Mike Rinne (bass), Josh Hunt (drums), and Maureen Murphy (backup vocals).
There will be two sets, beginning at 8pm. Tickets are $20 / $10 high school and college students with ID. Tickets will go on sale Monday, June 10 at 10AM and will be available online on this page, by phone 24/7 at Brown Paper Tickets (800-838-3006) or during business hours at the NJW office (242-5299). A small convenience charge is added to online or 800-number purchases.
Policies: The Jazz Cave is a BYOB establishment, with no alcohol or food service. You are free to bring alcoholic beverages and snacks. We sell soft drinks and bottled water. The Jazz Cave is a listening room, and we ask patrons to keep conversation to a minimum and silence cell phones. Audio and video recording is prohibited.
