Forward Motion: Workshops
FORWARD MOTION PHYSICALLY INTEGRATED DANCE FESTIVAL presents WORKSHOPS by AXIS DANCE COMPANY and CANDOCO DANCE COMPANY
SHIFTING THE PARADIGM of what contemporary dance can be, physically integrated companies, including performers with and without disabilities, represent an exciting and growing movement that seeks to redefine movement vocabulary and performance. To showcase this work, acclaimed Miami-based dance pioneers Karen Peterson and Dancers (KPD) are launching, in South Florida, their first annual international festival and conference of physically integrated dance, Forward Motion, from September 26 through the 29. Forward Motion features an opening night event & reception, a half-day professional conference, a free panel discussion, performances, and workshops for dancers and the general public.
The two featured companies, AXIS Dance Company and Candoco Dance Company will be teaching inclusively, ensuring Workshops are accessible to all. These Workshops are open to all adults with and without disabilities who have any level of dance experience. They are designed for disabled and non-disabled dancers, artists and students at various stages in their careers. *Please note that AXIS Friday 3pm Choreographic Master Class is designed for disabled and non-disabled individuals with more dance experience.
