Two sisters in need of a little independence, one from a bottle, the other from a wheelchair. Mae Connelly is trapped in the role of caretaker to her demanding crippled sister Eileen. When Mae meets an eager suitor, she realizes she may still have a path to happiness even if that path threatens to take her away from Eileen.
