First We Take Brooklyn
Gritty gangster film co-written by actor/writer and former local resident Jon Carlo.
Carlo will lead a Q&A session following the movie and hopes to bring members of the cast!
Starring Harvey Keitel, AnnaLynne McCord and Charlotte McKinney, this is Carlo's first feature film as a writer and also a first for its director and star, Danny A. Abeckaser, who plays Mikki Levy, an Israeli ex-convict who is released from prison and decides to move to Brooklyn. There, he reconnects with his distant family and ultimately falls back on violent habits when he begins confronting the Russian mob.
Carlo is known to locals for having directed and acted in several theater productions, "Our Town," at the Gualala Arts Center in 2010, and "Fiction" at Arena Theater in 2012.
