Aging Without Apology: Nina Lorez Collins, Sandra Tsing Loh and Annabelle Gurwitch
How are women supposed to age? Is there a guide for walking us through the  sleepless nights, the  raging hormones, sagging skin and other sagging body parts, empty nesting, and exhaustion that we seem to suddenly face when we realize we're not 49 anymore?  How must we adapt to fashion, to this new (or older) skin, to relationships? How can we make our age work for us and not against us? These are only some of the battlefronts we face as we embrace the reality that we're more mature than we once were. And that's a good thing.  Nina Lorez Collins, author of What Would Virginia Woolf Do? And Other Questions I Ask Myself as I Attempt to Age Without Apology, writes about the path of aging from midlife forward, in a candid, funny and conversational way. She takes on the big questions of sex, dating, physical and emotional changes, work, fashion perplexities and family. What Would Virginia Woolf Do shows us how to maximize our opportunities as we move into and past midlife.

In conversation with writers Sandra Tsing Loh and Annabelle Gurwitch, two experts on post menopause. Sandra Tsing Loh is a performance artist, a playwright and the author, most recently of The Madwoman in the Volvo: My Year of Raging Hormones, in which she takes us through the perils of menopause, in which the female brain is essentially rewired and the other half of the population must watch and adjust. It's brilliant, hilarious and eye-opening. Annabelle Gurwitch is an actor and author whose books on women and aging are not only poignant, but really really funny. I See You Made an Effort: Compliments, Indignities and Survival Stories from the Edge of 50 is a really wonderful guide to navigating the frightening terrain of everything from the Genius Bar to anti-aging products. While aging is by definition hazardous to one's health, Nina, Sandra and Annabelle show us a straightforward and funny way to accelerate our enjoyment of midlife and post-midlife.

PLUS: Enjoy aging even more with some wine on the house. Adults only, of course.
