Give Water: A Zumba Fitness Charity Event

Many of Pearland's hottest Zumba instructors are joining forces for a 2-hour fitness event in the Pearland Town Center Pavilion. Come dance and sweat, and help raise money for the fantastic efforts of A Voice Is Heard.

As fitness enthusiasts, we all understand the value of abundant, clean drinking water. But as you know, drinking water is unavailable in many parts of the world, and in others, unsafe drinking water is a contributing factor to morbidity and mortality. A Voice is Heard is currently working to bring abundant, clean, and safe drinking water to the impoverished villages of the Maasai peoples in southern Kenya. With your help, they will be able to complete five new community wells in 2013-14.

Water Projects Unsafe drinking water and lack of sanitation cause 80% of the disease in our world. In Africa, women and children walk several miles each day to retrieve drinking water that may be contaminated and make them and their families sick. For young girls, the time spent walking to bring home water keeps them from school and opportunity.

Clean water is a basic necessity of life no one should go without. In 2012, A Voice is Heard successfully drilled a borehole well at the Osiot School in Namelok, Kenya. This well is now providing clean and safe drinking water to over 600 students and 200 families. And with your help, many more will follow in 2013-14.
