EL MUSICAL DEL ZORRO LLEGA POR PRIMERA VEZ A MIAMI
No te puedes perder esta divertida aventura romantica #ZORROELMUSICAL llena de Flamenco, taconeo y espadas, desde el 6 de Abril en Miami Shores.
El SAH acaba de anunciar los nombres del reparto y el equipo creativo del debut en Miami de El Zorro, un emocionante nuevo musical que se estrena el próximo 6 de abril de 2018 en el Miami Theatre Center.
El Zorro es un personaje creado en 1919 por el escrito Johnston McCulley para la serie de novelas La Maldición de Capistrano, y fue inmortalizado en cómic, en el cine, en televisión y recientemente en videojuegos. Ahora el legendario personaje aparece en este nuevo musical de espadachines con los ritmos aflamencados de las canciones de los Gypsy Kings.
El equipo creativo de El Zorro está encabezado por el director nominado al Premio Federico García Lorca; Miguel Sahid (Yerma, Chisme de las Mujeres), quien ha estado involucrado en la producción desde su concepción en 2017. Sahid cuenta con la asistencia de Arysbells Figueredo, Alicia Rivera, Vanessa Elise y Sonia Cordobes
Zorro es el primer gran musical de flamenco, visión que pudo materializarse cuando el autor del libreto Stephen Clark contactó con The Gypsy Kings, iconos del flamenco-rumba por antonomasia que han escrito casi toda la música. Otros miembros del equipo creativo son el director musical Michael Day y sus productores Lito Becerra y Andres Mejia.
En El Zorro hay muchos bailes y mucho Flamenco para ello el Director de la puesta Miguel Sahid se ha valido del coreógrafo Manuel Castro JR. La Misma dupla que llevo a escena la galardonada pieza LOS LOCOS ADDAMS junto a ellos Zizi Zabaneh the Fusion Gitana y Ismael Cordoba.
También hay luchas de espadas, magia en escena e impresionantes caídas coordinadas por Seth Trucks y Michael Englemann
El papel de Diego de la Vega/Zorro lo interpreta el veterano actor de Musicales de Broadway en Miami Lito Becerra (Los Locos Adams) junto a Shalia Sakona (Mary Poppins), Rebecca Diaz, Sophia Rodriguez, Macias McGeorge, Chris Dreeson entre otros.
La obra contiene 36 canciones con un elenco de 35 Personas. Ha sido nominado a los premios Lawrence Olivier en la categoría de Mejor Musical Nuevo en 2009 cuando se estrenó en Reino Unido el West End londinense. Desde entonces, Zorro se ha estrenado en otras ciudades como París. Para el Estreno en Miami se ha preparado numeros en telas aereas a cargo de Sebastián Gil.
"Queremos crear una versión definitiva Unica. Y para ese fin hemos realizado cambios en la historia, enriqueciendo a los personajes, añadiendo nueva música, desarrollando el diseño y creando nuevas escenas de acción y efectos especiales". Afirma Sahid que califica Zorro como una historia de capa y espada, romántica, divertida. "Es una experiencia muy latina".
Desde el antiguo Oeste Americano llega la leyenda del Zorro, un enemigo de la corrupción y amante de las mujeres hermosas. Cuando Diego de la Vega llega desde su España natal, descubre que su padre ha muerto y que la ciudad de Los Ángeles está mal gobernada por su hermano. La curiosa vestimenta de Diego esconde el alma de un zorro del desierto. Un gran espectáculo deliciosamente divertido con la inolvidable música de Gypsy Kings que ya se ha podido ver en ciudades como Londres y París y que ahora Miami podrá también disfrutarla.

The Gipsy Kings are that rare thing an international household name famous solely for their music. The Gipsy Kings consist of two bands of brothers: the Reyes (Nicolas, Canut, Paul, Patchaï, André) and the Baliardos (Tonino, Paco, Diego). In 1987 The Gipsy Kings self titled debut album introduced the world to rumba Gitano, the sound of South Americas rumba rhythm married to flamenco guitars.With Bamboleo The Gipsy Kings scored a huge international hit and since then the Kings have never stopped singing to the world. Their total album sales worldwide now exceed 18 million.
ZORRO'S book & lyrics are by Stephen Clark, and features additional compositions, orchestrations and arrangements by John Cameron, directed by Miguel Sahid, musical direction but michael Day, choreography by Manny Castro Jr., fight choreography by Michael Engelmann.
