Botanical Drawing
This class will be held at the University of Washington Medicinal Herb garden, which is a treasure trove of traditional European medicinals, Chinese medicinals, and other amazing plants from around the world. It is a place an amazing place of learning, which is why I like to share it with people so much.
There will be some instruction on strategies for planning out your drawing, and different styles. We'll do a group drawing activity, and then there will be some time in class to draw plants in the garden. We'll wrap things up with a quick plant walk to talk about a few of the amazing species found in the garden.
This class is open to all skill levels, including those that think they suck at drawing. Ages 13+.
Please bring an unlined notebook or blank paper, some sharp pencils, and thin black pens.
