Tribute to Patsy Cline
This show will be performed at the historic Ft. Coombs Armory in Apalachicola, Florida, directly across the street from the Gibson Inn Bed and Breakfast. Margo Anderson has portrayed Patsy Cline annually at the Dixie Theatre in Apalachicola for over ten years, but with the closing of the theatre for larger concerts, she and the Encore Band will be performing at the Ft. Coombs Armory with a great wooden floor for dancing during the show, and tables for enjoying your favorite beverages (BYOB-ice, cups and soft drinks available) Margo's Branson-style show features beautiful costumes, the story of Patsy Cline's tumultuous six year singing career before the tragic plane crash which claimed her life in 1963, and over twenty-five best-loved songs made famous by the honky-tonk angel. The show will be opened by lead-guitar player, Mike Purvis, who portrays Willie Nelson, the red-headed stranger who wrote the song "Crazy". Willie Nelson and Patsy Cline often traveled and sang in the same music venues, which make this tribute a fun one! Margo looks forward to seeing her friends who have been regulars for this show each year from Tallahassee, Crawfordville, Wakulla, SopChoppy, Carrabelle, Cedar Key, Perry, and of course, Apalachicola ad Port St. Joe. Reserve rooms early for this great weekend in oyster country!
