Sergei Loiko presents his novel "Airport"
Sergei Loiko is a war correspondent and photographer who covered Afghanistan and Iraq for LA Times. His novel "Airport" is based on a true story of the heroic and dramatic 242-day defense of Donetsk airport by Ukrainian troops heavily outnumbered and outgunned by pro-Russia separatists and regular Russian troops which invaded eastern Ukraine in the summer of 2014. He is currently working on a follow-up book on the fateful flight of Malaysian Boing 777 that was gunned down over Ukraine in July 2014.
