PATRICIA NUÑEZ LA TIRANTA

Patricia Nuñez La Tiranta, singer, was born in Córdoba in 1987. Patricia inherited her passion for singing from her musical family background, particularly her mother. From an early age she start working with different musicians and artists from her city such as Angelin de Puente Genil, Rafael Trenas Jr., Álvaro Vizcaíno, Xavier de la Torre and others. Later on, she moved to Granada to study musical production and start her career in flamenco music.

La Tiranta has also taken part in the Ensemble Español tours in the Midwest and East coast of the U.S. In 2016, she opened the Chicago Flamenco Festival at the Instituto Cervantes singing for Raquel Heredia La Repompilla.She was performing  in New Mexico in 2016 with Adriana Maresma flamenco company.

La Tiranta sings regularly at different venues throughout the Chicagoland area and Midwest. She is also part of the project, Ruta De Los Bandoleros in Alameda, Malaga. She has performed with  Paco Fonta, Pol Vaquero, Carmela Greco ,Raquel Heredia, and family, Adriana Maresma ,among others.


RICARDO DÍAZ

Ricardo Díaz is one of the top flamenco guitarists in the world, both as an accompanist to dancers and singers and as a solo artist. Born in Argentina and currently a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, he studied in Spain with El Entri, Canito, José Luis Rodrigues, and El Viejin.

Mr. Díaz performs not only in festivals and tablaos all over the world, he also works with renowned American and international dance companies, such as Flamenco Vivo/Carlota Santana of New York City, Teatro Flamenco of San Francisco, Caterina Costa of Rome, Flamenco Sur of France, and Yjastros Dance Company, Albuquerque. He is also artistic director of the Alma Flamenca dance company of Canada. He has toured with prominent artists such as: Andrés Marín, Alejandro Granados, Pastora Galván, La Tania, Jesus Montoya, Marisol Encinias, Timo Lozano, Vicente Griego, Jose Anillo, Carola Zertuche, and Mónica Bermúdez.

His performances have been presented by numerous prestigious organizations and at international venues, including the St. Louis Flamenco Society, the Flamenco Jondo Festival in Vancouver, the Theater dIouille and the Festival dAvignon in France, the Caja Negra and Peña Niño Alfalfa in Sevilla, the Teatro Greco and El Aventino in Rome, and by the Embassies of Spain in Canada and El Salvador.

In addition, Mr. Díaz has performed in Japan, China, Denmark, Germany, Argentina, Switzerland, Holland, and throughout the U.S. (including Hawaii) and Canada. His album, Travesuras (Pranks), recorded in Jérez de la Frontera, Spain, is considered by flamenco aficionados to be one of the best recent discs. It has sold over 10,000 copies, to date. Guest artists on the album include: Cristo Cortés, Luis Carrasco, el Bo, Juan Grande, Rami Ziadeh, El Nono de Jérez, José Cortés, Niño Jero, Rosario de la Melchora, Bernardo Parrilla, Nacho Fajardo, La Junquera, and Luis Moneo.

Mr. Díaz also composed original music for the play, Dracula, which was premiered in Dallas in 2013 by the Ochre House Theatre and the Dallas Flamenco Festival.


LETICIA ARAVENA

Leticia Susana Aravena, was born in Cordoba, Argentina. She began studying ballet, tap and flamenco at the age of eleven at the Escuela Integral de la Danza under the direction of Graciela E. Perez de Ceva. As an adult, Leticia continued her focus on Flamenco and Clasico Spanish dances. She has worked in Chicago, IL. for the Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater as a soloist, choreographer and teacher since 2006. She has studied in Madrid, Spain at Centro de Arte Flamenco y Danza Española Amor de Dios in 2009 and 2012. In the summer of 2016 Leticia continued her studies in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain after performing at the Marquina Theater in Madrid and the Tomas y Valiente Theater in Fuenlebrada, Spain. Leticia performs nationally and internationally and has studied regularly with guest artist Carmela Greco, Jose Barrios, Paloma Gómez, Angel y Rodríguez, just to name a few. She has taught flamenco for the After School Matters program, Urban Gateways, Instituto Cervantes, Northeastern Illinois University Community Dance and through out the Chicago land area schools and community. Leticia performs regularly as part of a "cuadro flamenco" every Thursday at Bordel Lounge, in Chicago, (tablao style) as well as through out the nation and Mexico.
