Canzona Women's Ensemble "Weaving Women's Voices" concert

Canzona Women's Ensemble is pleased to welcome Soli Deo Gloria women's choir to our fall concert "Weaving Women's Voices". Soli Deo Gloria was awarded third place in the 2011 California International Choral Festival and Competition.

The two ensembles will join together for Verdi's "Laudi Alla Vergine" from his 4 Sacred Pieces set to text from Dante's "Paradiso". Soli's artistic director Julie Carter will lead the two ensembles in Joan Szymko's "Nada te turbe" for choir and cello - one of the pieces her ensemble performed at the Choral Competition.

The concert will also feature music by Poulenc for choir and organ, Stravinsky's "Four Russian Peasant Songs", and in a nod to Halloween, Libby Larsen's "Book of Spells" and Verdi's "Witches' Chorus" from Macbeth.

Tickets are prices at $15 in advance - $20 at the door and $10 for students with I.D.
